Tanner Williams
A rich playboy who has a fascination with flying balloons even though
he has a habit of crashing into the bridge over the local gorge. Tanner
thinks of himself as a guardian of Serton but has a secret that he is
unwilling to share with anyone. While normally very happy and jovial
Tanner does have a dark and sometimes violent side which shows through
occasionally.
Shane Carter
New to town, Shane regards himself as a hunter of evil. He has tracked
demons and evil men all over America. He has been drawn to Serton
because he senses that there is evil in the town. Shane is quite a
modern boy and decides to help out Tanner upon his arrival. Shane is
very dedicated to his job and is used to working on his own.
Susan Forrester
Working as the town’s midwife has brought her into contact with quite a
few people in town but Susan is a loner. Susan’s grandmother hinted to
her when she was younger that she had the power to see briefly into the
future. Susan discovers this talent herself just as a new evil arises
in town although she is unable to control or use her power to make it
really useful.
Leonard McGuigan
The town’s priest works out of the local church, is a devout believer
in God and is dedicated to his work at the church. He is married to
Mary-Anne but they have no children. His best friend in town is
Alexander Duprie.
Mary-Anne Mcguigan
Married to Leonard, Mary-Anne works by her husband’s side to help
promote the church. Although she has no child of her own she would like
to have one. Sometimes she feels a little neglected by her husband
although she realises that his work often has to come first.
Alexander Duprie
Owning most of the land for the town has left Alexander very rich. He
enjoys a comfortable lifestyle with his wife Jennifer. Alexander is
good friends with Leonard and the pair enjoy each others company.
Alexander is a little out of his time as he still has servants which
are of colour but he refuses to modernise since this is the lifestyle
to which he has grown accustomed to.
Jennifer Duprie
Alexander’s wife, Jennifer enjoys the benefits that a rich lifestyle
has brought her. She comes across as haughty and rude to people who
have less than her. She speaks regularly to Mary-Anne, Leonard’s wife,
although that may be more to please her husband than anything else.
Taribo O’Kacha
Of Jamaican descent, Taribo is the main servant in the Duprie
household. He has a good working relationship with Alexander and the
pair hold a healthy respect for each other. Jennifer tends to treat
Taribo with disdain and often shouts at him.
